Meet the band

The Will Tucker Band is a hard-hitting, high-energy blues rock band that got its start on the B.B. King’s stage. The band can be heard every Friday and Saturday night at the club on Beale Street. The band has performed as the opener for B.B. King fives times. They’ve also won multiple awards including “Best Band” from The Commercial Appeal, and they perform annually at the Beale Street Music Festival.

Will Tucker:

Will got his start on the B.B. King’s stage when he was 14 years old, playing with the B.B. King’s house band. A year later, he had a regular slot with his own band. Known as “the axe man,” Will has played with many well-known musicians such as Charlie Musselwhite, G. Love and Special Sauce, Bobby “Blue” Bland, The Beach Boys and John Stamos. He has also worked with producer Randy Jackson to produce multiple songs for movie soundtracks, and he has won many awards for blues music. Learn more about Will at

 Rodd Bland:

Rodd is the son of world famous Blues and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’r, Bobby “Blue” Bland. Rodd has been playing drums with The Will Tucker Band since 2011. As a self-taught musician, his musical influences include Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Matt Cameron and Jabo Starks. He has played with notable musicians including B.B. King, Bobby “Blue” Bland and Corey Osborn.

 Kelly McDonald:

Kelly joined the Will Tucker Band in 2013 as bass guitarist. A Memphis native, Kelly has played with several different bands on B.B. King’s stage including the bands of Little Jimmy King, Eugene Gales, Corey Osborn and Patrick Dodd.
